V32 Shirley Pudding
In a very old recipe book, I came upon a Shirley Pudding. To date I have not tried it but thought other Shirleys might be interested.
1 cup breadcrusts
1 cup of hot milk
1/2 cup sugar
a pinch of salt
a tablespoon of dry cocoa
a little milk
1/2 cup chopped preserved ginger
few drops of vanilla
Soak the breadcrusts in the hot milk for 20 mins.
Add the sugar and salt
Mix the cocoa with extra milk, ginger and vanilla.
Pour into greased dish and bake in a moderate oven for 45 mins.
